The Powerball jackpot has gone unclaimed since Aug. 19, when a California player won the $44 million grand prize, lottery officials said. To score a jackpot in the Powerball, a player must match all five white balls and the red Powerball.

Kristina Love, a 74-year-old from Traverse City, won $1 million in a Powerball draw after an impulse purchase.

A New York man bought a lottery ticket while visiting a friend in Massachusetts and won a $1 million top prize.

Powerball tickets sold in Texas and Virginia won $2 million and $1 million, respectively. More than 390,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $250,000, the lottery said.

A 53-year-old health care worker from Webster City claimed a $1-million Powerball prize on Wednesday at the Iowa Lottery headquarters in Clive. Lynne Kannuan says she bought the ticket at a local grocery store for the drawing back on August 5th and stuffed it in her purse.
